A. Personal Statement
Nephrology. I have been a Nephrologist and Lecturer at Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University since 1991. Because our institute, Srinagarind Hospital, is the academic teaching hospital affiliated Khon Kaen University, I have both clinical and teaching experience. Our team of nephrologists at Srinagarind Hospital has been very actively involved in implementing the CAPD first policy of Thailand, which offers renal replacement therapy for the majority of people in Thailand’s National Health Service scheme. In my clinical practice, I collaborate with my colleagues at the Center for Renal Excellence at Srinagarind Hospital, where I have been the director since 2016. For my teaching experience, I have participated in undergraduate, postgraduate and research training for our nephrology division. I participated in the education of many of the nephrologists in northeastern Thailand as our institute is the primary nephrology training centre in the region.
Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I completed a short course in epidemiology and biostatistics training at Khon Kaen University. This training greatly strengthened my research skills and has resulted in good collaboration with statisticians and other researchers.
Information Technology. In addition to my clinical and research activities, a serve as the Associate Dean for Information Technology of Khon Kaen University. I am also the project director for the new hospital information system project that implemented 4 years ago. Our system used many world standards such as SNOMED terminology, HL7. We are the very first hospital in Thailand which fully integrated electronic health record and enterprise resource planning system. In addition, we manage the interface between the hospital information system, and laboratory, pathological and radiological information system. We are moving forward to use big data in the system as knowledge and customer’s value. Additionally, our institute actively involves in Khon Kaen Smart City Project.
